Summary

MHHA Annual Newsletter โ€” highlights

From the President (Marie-Cecile): a look back at a packed year of community life โ€” Meet the Winemaker tastings, the kitchen tour, the Italian cooking class, the Second Lives garage sale, holiday caroling, the Chinese New Year dinner, and the Easter egg hunt โ€” plus what's ahead, including congressional candidate meet & greets and our first Diwali celebration on November 6.

About 70% of households are now on the neighborhood email list. If you're not receiving updates, sign up via the Contact page. The board meets on the second Monday of each month, and everyone is welcome.

Neighborhood updates:

  • Coyotes (Steve): keep dogs leashed, walk away calmly from sightings, and use extra care during spring pupping season.
  • Rat control (Georgina): barn-owl nesting platforms are proving an effective, poison-free approach โ€” Carmel's program is the model.

Local favorites featured this year: Spangler's Market on West Portal, Kasama Clay Studio, and Glen Park gems including Bird and Beckett Books, Cheese Boutique, and Critter Fritters.
