MHHA Bylaws โ€” Summary (DRAFT for board review)

Plain-language summary of the association's governing rules.

Summary

DRAFT โ€” prepared for board review. Not the official bylaws.

## Purpose The Monterey Heights Homes Association (MHHA) is a voluntary neighborhood association of single-family homes in San Francisco. Membership is open to all resident homeowners in the Monterey Heights tract.

## Membership & dues - Annual dues are set by the board each fall and payable by December 31 for the following year. - Dues fund neighborhood beautification, community events, communications, and this website. - Because MHHA is voluntary, dues are not enforceable assessments and no liens attach to any property.

## The board - Up to twelve directors, elected at the annual meeting each spring; officers (President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary) are chosen by the board. - The board meets roughly monthly; residents are welcome โ€” check the events calendar. - Decisions pass by simple majority of directors present; changes to these bylaws require notice to members and a vote at a general meeting.

## Committees Standing committees (beautification, events, safety) are formed by the board and open to any member.
