Coyote sightings — what to know during pupping season

Neighbors have reported coyote sightings around Mount Davidson. A few reminders from Steve's write-up in the annual newsletter:

• Keep dogs on a leash, especially near the park
• If you encounter a coyote, stay calm and walk away — don't run
• Use extra caution in spring, when coyotes are protective of their dens during pupping season

Coyotes are part of life on the hill; a little awareness keeps everyone (pets included) safe.
